Accomplishments: Client Engagement

• As an active Senior Advisory Partner on one of EY’s largest global private equity accounts, met with the client regularly throughout the world creating a greatly enhanced global synergistic relationship between their business needs and EYs ability to provide knowledge, insight and services.

• Mobilized the key resources of our global network to plan, strategize, and win the audit of a Top 5 European based E&C Company, leading EY from 3rd position to first to win the assignment.

• Travelled extensively to India to support EY’s first mover advantage in the Modi Administration’s new REIT legislation. Supported the preparation of a white paper outlining the differences in emerging market REIT regimes. Met with multiple government officials and several key clients considering the change.

• Met with a Fortune 500 Chinese real estate company considering investing in several key markets in the US. Provided analysis and advice, prepared a study on the topic and provided contacts and information, ultimately supporting the commencement of several billion dollar investments in the US.

• Led EY’s retention of a major institutional private equity group, ultimately becoming the tax partner and then overall real estate client coordinating partner.

• Led the multi-year effort of a highly complex separation of a major Bank’s on-balance sheet real estate assets to a newly formed third-party fund platform. This was one of the few non-blind pool creations of a major Real Estate Private Equity fund complex.

• In the early 1990s, worked on multiple complex bankruptcies and non-judicial reorganizations of major developers, retailers and corporations. Work included forensic analysis, tax and entity structuring, regulatory and compliance aspects.
