Howard Roth
Howard Roth is seeking Public or Private Board Service as an independent director or a strategic advisor.
Roth, a CPA, is qualified to serve as a Financial Expert under SEC and NYSE/NASDAQ listing rules.
He currently serves as the Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Nominating and Governance Committee of Lexington Realty Trust (NYSE: LXP). He is also a retained advisor to the CEO of Avison Young, the international real estate brokerage firm. Roth serves as a member of the Advisory Boards of Hodes Weill & Associates, Parker Infrastructure Partners and Stake.
Mr. Roth is a retired Ernst & Young (EY) partner who led the firm’s Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction (RHC) practice from January 2008 – June 2017. He was a member of EY’s Global Practice Group, the 125 senior leaders of the firm’s global partnership.
Under his leadership, RHC grew to over $2.0B of revenue and achieved #1 industry brand recognition. During this period, Roth travelled extensively, meeting major institutional clients, investors and industry leaders worldwide.
His role included developing and implementing services, solutions and technical content in the changing assurance (GAAP, IFRS), tax, and regulatory environment. He also led RHC’s digital solutions efforts including cybersecurity, data analytics, smart buildings and workplace of the future.
Earlier, Roth led EY’s NY Real Estate Industry and tax practices. He was tax partner at Kenneth Leventhal & Co prior to its merger with EY in June, 1995.
During his career, Roth served many of EY’s most significant global real estate and private equity clients in senior advisory, coordinating partner and tax partner capacities. His experience includes transactional analysis, entity structuring, regulatory and tax compliance and judicial and non-judicial reorganizations.
Roth graduated from Hofstra University with a B.B.A. in accounting, is a lifetime trustee and governor of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and a member of NAREIT and NACD.
Roth completed EY sponsored Executive Management programs at the Harvard Business School and Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. He has been a speaker at key industry events and a columnist and commentator for major industry publications, newspapers and media.
